4th Jagran Film Festival Begins with Korea as the focus country

The 4th Edition of Jagran Film Festival started from 5th July 2013 at Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi.

1800+ people witnessed the inauguration of the festival Manish Tewari, Minister, Information & Broadcasting, Govt. of India. In his inaugural speech Tewari appreciated this initiative of Jagran Group for taking cinema of various genres to cities which are deprived of good cinema for commercial constraints through Jagran Film Festival.

Manish Tewari also appreciated the fact Jagran is doing this noble job without having any commercial interest in film industry. He mentioned that this shows the commitment of Jagran Group towards its readers and society at large to educate and appreciate the art form. 

The festival opened with Lootera, directed by Vikramaditya Motwani , starring Sonakshi and Ranbir Singh and produced by Balaji Productions. The entire cast along with director Vikram and producer Ekta Kapoor were present at the inaugural function.

Introducing the film, Ekta said that it is a return of intense and classic romance in cinema again. Vikram thanked Jagran Film Festival for opening the festival with his second film, as his first film had already been screened and nominated in 1st edition of Jagran Film Festival.

The 4th Jagran Film Festival takes the festival to 16 cities of India making it geographically the largest film festival of India. This year, the festival showcases over 100 films from across 21 countries in 26 languages from India and around the world. With 16 masterclasses and 20 seminars on various aspects of film making, the festival creates a unique platform to share thoughts and discuss cinema.

With the Jagran group’s print audience of 70 million and a digital reach of 10 million, Jagran stands committed to the cause of spreading this culture.
