Amazon India Fashion Week’s premier male model auditions, a record breaking success: 24 new faces shortlisted to walk the ramp for the first Menswear show at AIFWAW16

Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) takes new strides and conducts the male model auditions #GETNOTICED after a long time for AIFWAW16. Almost 200 aspiring models put their best foot forward showcasing confidence and poise for the 27th edition of the Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2016, in association with Maybelline New York. The event will be held from March 16 -20, in the capital at a new venue, the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Lodhi Road.

An eminent jury comprising designers Rohit Bal, Varun Bahl, Divyam Mehta and ace choreographer Anu Ahuja shortlisted 24 new talent, who will get an opportunity to walk the ramp for a specially curated, menswear show, to be presented by three young designers at the Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2016. Models were evaluated on walk, fitness and attitude on the ramp.

Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI said, "We took a leap forward and after several years held the male model auditions for India Fashion Week. There were almost 200 models, who came for the auditions. FDCI board has decided to include one or two menswear shows as part of Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2016 and going forward increase the number. The menswear show at AIFWAW16 will give male models a platform to showcase their talent.”
